**Hours:** Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (may require evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed)

**Overview**
A Texas state agency seeks a Cloud Solutions Architect 3 to lead cloud computing initiatives and direct the architectural aspects of a cloud brokering team across all aspects of IT and the business. This role is responsible for planning and engineering the organization's cloud computing infrastructure and applications, implementing and designing hardware and software, and supporting a regulated, multi-cloud enterprise environment. The architect will provide expertise in data/AI platforms, vendor coordination, monitoring, and 24×7 operations while ensuring security, compliance, and system reliability. The position requires familiarity with standard cloud technology concepts, practices, and procedures, including Software as a Service (SaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS).
**Key Responsibilities**
- Lead cloud computing initiatives and direct architectural aspects of a cloud brokering team across IT and business functions
- Plan and engineer cloud computing infrastructure and applications for a regulated, multi-cloud enterprise environment
- Implement and design hardware and software solutions supporting SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS models
- Support data/AI platforms, vendor coordination, monitoring, and 24×7 operations
- Ensure security, compliance, and system reliability across cloud environments
- Design and implement monitoring and alerting solutions for performance, reliability, and usage tracking
- Support data pipelines, data platforms, and analytics workloads in enterprise environments
- Resolve Tier 2/3 issues, debug logs, and maintain stability in production environments
- Implement IAM (least privilege), network security, audit logging, and compliance requirements
**Required Qualifications**
- 8+ years of multi-cloud platform expertise (Azure + GCP)
- 8+ years of GenAI & enterprise AI platform knowledge (Gemini, Vertex AI)
- 8+ years of expertise in Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, GCP Cloud Monitoring, and logging frameworks to track performance, reliability, and usage
- 8+ years of experience using Logstash for log ingestion, transformation, and integration with Azure Log Analytics for proactive monitoring and alerting
- 8+ years of ability to design alerting solutions using Twilio (SMS/voice) for ETL failures and operational notifications
- 8+ years of experience with Blob Storage, Data Lakes, and structured storage systems enabling analytics and AI workloads
- 8+ years of hands-on experience supporting data pipelines, data platforms, and analytics workloads in enterprise environments
- 8+ years of experience with Informatica Cloud (IICS), Secure Agents, APIs, and integration patterns, including handling monitoring and integration challenges
- 8+ years of strong implementation of IAM (least privilege), network security, audit logging, and compliance (FedRAMP/regulated environments)
- 8+ years of ability to support Tier 2/3 issues, debug logs, resolve platform access issues, and maintain stability in production environments
**Preferred Qualifications**
- 3+ years of familiarity building and managing Tableau Cloud environments
- 3+ years of experience integrating ArcGIS or geospatial data systems with cloud data platforms
- 3+ years of knowledge of scripting (Python, Bash) and automation (serverless, CI/CD pipelines)
- 3+ years of exposure to GKE, AKS, Docker, and microservices architectures
- 3+ years of familiarity with data mesh, ETL/ELT architectures, API integrations, and enterprise data standards
- 3+ years of strong analytical thinking to assess platform issues, make timely architectural decisions, and drive resolution in high-pressure environments
- 3+ years of ability to take end-to-end ownership of platform stability, reliability, and delivery, proactively identifying risks and driving outcomes
- 2+ years of ability to clearly translate complex technical concepts into business-friendly language and actively engage with stakeholders, leadership, and end users
- 2+ years of proven ability to lead and coordinate across engineering, data, infrastructure, and business teams, ensuring alignment and delivery of platform initiatives
**Work Location & Requirements**
- Primary work location: Austin, Texas
- Hybrid position: 3 days remote with 2 days (Monday & Wednesday) required onsite
- Candidates must be local to the Austin area (within 50-mile radius) and currently reside in Texas
- Normal business hours are Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, excluding state holidays
- May be required to work outside normal business hours on weekends, evenings, and holidays as requested
- May be required to work remotely up to 100 percent of the time at agency discretion
- All travel, per diem, parking, and living expenses are at the candidate's and/or vendor's expense
- Must pass criminal background check
- Must sign an Acceptable Use Agreement and Contractor Integrity Agreement as conditions of employment
