Job description

**Location:** Austin, TX (100% Onsite – Local Candidates Only within 50 miles) **Duration:** Initial contract through August 2026 with possible extensions **Hours:** Up to 528 hours (M–F, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM CST) **Interview Mode:** Microsoft Teams and/or In-Person We are seeking an experienced **Senior Business Systems Modernization Analyst** to support enterprise application modernization initiatives focused on transforming legacy systems into modern web-based solutions. This role is ideal for professionals with a strong background in business analysis, project coordination, and legacy application transformation who can bridge technical and business teams while driving requirements and modernization efforts. ### Responsibilities * Lead analysis and requirements activities supporting migration of legacy applications to modern web-based platforms * Analyze existing application functionality, workflows, and SQL-based systems to document current-state environments * Gather, document, and validate business, functional, technical, and non-functional requirements * Conduct gap analysis between current systems and future-state solutions * Collaborate with developers, architects, and database teams to ensure requirements align with implementation goals * Support project planning, issue tracking, risk identification, and milestone management * Facilitate stakeholder meetings, requirements workshops, and solution reviews * Provide ongoing support to development and QA teams by clarifying requirements and validating delivered functionality * Communicate status updates, risks, and dependencies across business and technical teams * Create clear and testable documentation to support modernization efforts ### Required Qualifications * 12+ years of experience in legacy application analysis and modernization initiatives * 12+ years of experience with SDLC processes, particularly web application projects * 12+ years of requirements gathering, analysis, and documentation experience * Experience translating legacy system functionality into modern application requirements * Strong experience with stakeholder management, communication, and consensus building * Experience analyzing SQL-based systems, integrations, and data models * Strong process mapping and workflow analysis skills * Ability to identify technical, functional, and compliance gaps * Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills * Experience working effectively across cross-functional teams ### Preferred Qualifications * Experience supporting modernization projects involving .NET technologies * Hands-on experience working alongside .NET development teams and SQL databases * Experience with project management methodologies * Prior experience supporting large-scale government or regulated environments * Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field * PMP, PMI-PBA, CBAP, or related certification preferred ### Additional Information * **100% onsite position** * **Candidates must currently reside within 50 miles of Austin, TX** * No relocation candidates will be considered * Some after-hours or weekend work may occasionally be required
